Description

Lucy Msukwa is a Founder and Hospital Director for Uchembere Wabwino Maternity Private Clinic which provides sexual reproductive health services inclusive of maternal and child health services. She has Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, Certificate in Project Management, Leadership and management in Global Health, Conducting research responsibly, Good Clinical Practice and pediatric nutrition. She founded the clinic in 2019 after looking at the Malawi demographic health survey 2015-16 which indicated that there are high maternal and neonatal deaths, increased in unplanned pregnancies among young girls and women and unmet need for family planning among youths, single and married women. The services are offered as in patient service and Outpatient services at an affordable price. In only two years of the establishment of the clinic, we have managed to save a population of 3500 people in a catchment area of 10,000 people through direct care and community projects, we have managed to provide immunizations to 2400 under 2years old children, provided menstrual hygiene methods to 60 girls in various communities, distributed over 1000 condoms to youths to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases . She is passionate about the welfare of young girls and women in terms of sexual reproductive health and rights , with that in mind, she also provides civic education, Safe Motherhood programs and under five nutrition education to people living within Mzuzu city and beyond. She values life and so believes that every life matters.
